This is a working draft for testers. It describes the current FitChat product. It has not been legally reviewed and should not be treated as a final legal statement. A lawyer should review this before any commercial or public launch. This page does not state a specific legal basis for processing.

FitChat is a small, early product. This page describes what the app actually does today — not a generic SaaS template, and not a claim that we have a legal department.

What data FitChat collects

If you create an account, FitChat stores your email and authentication details so you can sign in. Account creation does not record Terms acceptance or health consent. Those are stored only when you actively agree on the welcome screen.

Information you provide through conversation

When you talk to FitChat, you may mention food, recipes, exercise, sleep, energy, feelings and other wellbeing context. Messages are sent to a language model so FitChat can reply and, where appropriate, update your journal. FitChat does not keep a permanent archive of the chat thread. What lasts is the journal (and related records below), not a conversation log.

Journal data created from conversations

Useful details from chat, and anything you type in the journal yourself, can be saved as that day's structured journal. That can include sleep, food totals, water, steps, workouts, mobility, energy, mood and notes.

AI processing

Chat messages are processed by OpenAI so FitChat can understand what you said and write journal fields or food entries when that is appropriate. FitChat is not using your journal to train a public marketing story about you.

Food, nutrition and recipes

Meals you log are stored as food entries (including estimated nutrition). Saved recipes you choose to keep are stored against your account. Eating a saved recipe copies the stored nutrition onto that day's food entry.

Activity, exercise, sleep and wellbeing

If you share them, FitChat can store activity (such as steps or workouts), sleep, and wellbeing ratings such as energy, mood and how you felt on waking. These come from what you say or what you enter in the journal — not from a connected health platform.

Why the information is processed

FitChat processes this information to provide your personal tracking service: to reply in conversation, keep your journal up to date, send reminders you have enabled, and let you review or change what is stored. Health and wellbeing processing for that purpose is recorded as a separate, versioned consent.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, FitChat stores a push subscription and your reminder preferences so it can send the reminders you asked for.

Data retention

Journal, food, recipe, notification and consent records stay against your account until they are removed. Withdrawing health and wellbeing consent is recorded; it does not automatically wipe historical journal entries. How long data is kept after an account is closed still needs a documented retention policy.

Data deletion and your rights

You can ask for your account and journal to be removed. There is not yet a self-service delete button. Other rights (such as access or correction) should be documented properly before a wider launch. You can correct journal fields yourself in the app today.

How consent can be withdrawn

After you have consented, you can withdraw health and wellbeing consent from Settings → Your data. FitChat will record the withdrawal. You will need to consent again before using the journal and chat. Terms and health consent are separate records.

Data processors and service providers

The app is hosted on Vercel. Account and journal data are stored in Supabase. Chat messages are processed by OpenAI in order to update your journal. FitChat does not sell your data.

Security

Access to your journal is limited to your signed-in account through the app's existing access rules. You should use a password you do not share. This is not a claim that any particular certification is in place.

How to contact FitChat

If you want your account or journal removed, or you have a question about this page, get in touch through the product while it is still small enough that a person will see it. A dedicated contact address should be added before a wider launch.
